When My Heart Is Overwhelmed

"When my heart is overwhelmed".....how often do we feel like this? Like a thousand tons is pressing onto our hearts, minds, and souls? So weighed down that getting up seems like a hundred burdens in and of itself?
To be His child and to know His peace & strength at times like those is so precious. This passage has always been a go-to comfort for me. In just four verses it fully captures what a heart feels in a time of trial. It shows our need for Him, the comfort He gives when in His presence, and that He is faithful.

Psalm 61:1-4
"1. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.

2 .From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
4. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah."

I hope this is a comfort to all of you! If you are going through a rough patch, always remember that God is a shelter and that He will lead you.
